Scone Palace is a historic house in Scone, Perthshire. Constructed in 1808 from the remains of a 16th century palace, the Palace is a beautiful, elegant testament to Scotland’s rich history, and offers an insight into the daily lives of the wealthy upper-classes in Scotland over 200 years ago. The palace is built from red sandstone and boasts a castellated roof. Today, it is regarded as a classic example of the late Georgian Gothic style of architecture. Currently, Scone Palace is home to the Earls of Mansfield, and attracts visitors from all over the world. Visitors to the site can explore the sprawling rooms of the house, discover unusual plants in the extensive gardens, and pick up souvenirs and gift items in the shop. A visit to Scone Palace is an experience for the whole family, with many children’s activities offered at the Palace including an adventure playground and a maze. The reasonable admission price can’t be quibbled with, because it’s easy to spend a whole day at Scone Palace, looking at antique ivories, mahogany furniture and luxurious silks. In fact you may find yourself wondering where the time went.

Only went around the gardens and not in the palace itself but there was plenty to see. Cafe was nice too with a good selection. Overall the entry fee and costs in cafe were a little high but no worse than what a lot of NT sites charge if you aren't a member
